DIE GALERIE | THE GALLERY

Die zwischen den Rheinstädten Köln und Bonn in Alt-Wesseling gelegene HLP Galerie ist seit ihrer Eröffnung im Juni 2009 auf abstrakte bis informelle sowie prozessbetonte Kunst ausgerichtet, in Dialog gesetzt mit Beispielen zeitgenössischer Bildhauerei oder Einzelstücken afrikanischer Tribal Art aus der Sammlung Petric.

Die über einen alten Gewerbehof zu erreichende Galerie mit über 250 Quadratmetern Ausstellungsfläche hat bislang Werke von etwa 4 Dutzend Künstlern und Künstlerinnen aus dem In- und Ausland gezeigt. Daneben präsentiert sie sich auch regelmäßig auf internationalen Kunstmessen.

Erklärtes Ziel der HLP Galerie ist es, ein Kunstforum für qualitativ hoch stehende, jedoch nicht abgehobene und überteuerte Kunst aus dem 20. und 21. Jahrhundert zu bieten, das auch jüngeren Leuten erlaubt, eine Sammlung aufzubauen. Die beiden Galeristen Hans-Leo Petric und Patricia Corboud sind zudem sowohl für Firmen oder Institute als auch für Privatleute bei der Ausgestaltung von Räumen mit Kunst beratend tätig.

Since it opened in June 2009, the HLP Gallery, located in Old Wesseling on the left bank of the Rhine between Cologne and Bonn, has made a speciality of Abstract to Informel Art and art with the emphasis on process, whereby the paintings are set in a dialogue with examples of contemporary sculpture or single pieces of African tribal art from the Petric Collection.  

The entrance to the gallery is across an old works courtyard, and to date, mid-2016, it has hosted over its 250 square metres of exhibition space works by around five dozen artists from Germany and abroad. In addition, the gallery regularly participates in international art fairs.

It is the stated aim of the HLP Gallery to offer a forum for high quality but not way-out and not over-priced 20th and 21st century art, providing even younger people with the opportunity to start building up a collection. The two gallery owners Hans-Leo Petric and Patricia Corboud are also active in a consulting capacity for companies and institutes as well as private individuals seeking advice on exhibiting art on their premises.
